Music Together® - Mixed Ages

This is the essential Music Together class, one that a child can attend from birth to age five—and through all nine song collections. This basic class follows the recommendations of child development researchers, grouping children of a variety of ages in one class. This approach fosters natural, family-style learning where younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because the children in the family can go to class together.

Each child participates at his or her own developmental level in singing, moving, chanting, listening, observing, or exploring musical instruments. We welcome the whole family to join in this important family music experience, and any caregiver—parents, grandparents, nanny—can bring the child(ren) to class.

Each semester includes:

  • Weekly 45-minute classes teaching a new song collection every fall, winter and spring.
  • New CDs each semester with the songs, rhythm chants, "play-alongs," tonal and rhythm patterns used in class.
  • Beautifully illustrated songbook with family activities to enjoy at home.
  • Parent education resources and online resources
  •  PURE FUN with your child every week!

UKULELE Strum & Sing - 5 to 7 years

Why Uke?  Because it's the perfect size for children and it's FUN. Skills learned in class strengthen musical aptitude and are easily transferable if they choose to pick up another instrument later.

This class introduces kids to the Ukulele in a setting that is fun and relaxed. Classes involve singing, movement and rhythmic strumming. Children will learn basic music theory, rhythmic notation and solidify pitch recognition as they learn to tune and to sing along with their instrument.

Kids learn songs they can play right from the very first class for a feeling of accomplishment. This can encourage practice at home and the desire to learn more songs!

Each class runs 50 minutes.  Group class size is 4 children max but whenever possible we prefer only 2 children to allow for individual attention. Parents may stay or drop off the children.  We encourage parents to bring a ukulele if staying!

9 week class session. Tuition includes a Ukulele that the children take home and get to keep.

*Not all classes are listed on our calendar as some children have been taking Ukulele with us for several semesters and we've created private classes for more advanced students.  Classes listed are usually for beginners.

Please contact the director if you have any questions or would like to request a private class.
